Holi & Fuldol Utsav 2020

Saturday, March 7, 2020

Holi is one of the most prominent and popular festivals in the Hindu calendar and is celebrated all over India with lots of excitement, fun and of course colour….

However, we will be celebrating Holi with a more traditional and spiritual emphasis - after all the festival originated because 1) Almighty Bhagwan protected Bhakta Prahlad from the fire of Holika and 2) the celebration of the rebirth of Lord Nar Narayana (Arjun & Krishna), the twin form of Bhagwan described in the ancient scriptures such as Srimad Bhagavatam and Mahabharata.

Evening Programme:

4:30pm – Children’s Bhajan Hour

Bring along children to join in the Kirtan during this time in any language. It is truly heart warming to see children who can barely speak an Indian language, sing devotional songs they have especially prepared with such love and innocence…

5:30pm –Bhajans by SoorSeva

Sing along to uplifting bhajans from the SoorSeva team.

6pm – Fuldol Pooja & Holika Bonfire

Join us for a special Pooja of the Lord in a flower swing and giving you the opportunity to make an offering of colour. There will also be Holika Dahan – a real evening bonfire symbolising the burning of evil and the victory of goodness.

Aarti followed by Prasad Dinner

So come along to take the opportunity to de-stress, cleanse the mind and refresh the soul with uplifting Bhajans & Hari Naam Kirtan – for free!

Special Vaishnav Prasad dinner will also be served so do bring along friends and family to this family-friendly informal event. We look forward to seeing you there.

This event has kindly been sponsored by Jayesh and Payal Hirani & family.
